Swivel Connector to Hose on ResMed F20 Mask

Swivel Connector to Hose on ResMed F20 Mask
ResMed has recently changed the swivel connector to the hose on their F20 masks.  It used to have small holes in the connector circle to let air out when exhaling.  It would however let a small amount of air out even when one was not exhaling.  One could hold their hand in front of the mask and feel the air coming out.  Now in more recent F20 masks, the replacement connector holes are gone and no air seems to escape the mask, exhaling or not.  This seems like a bad change in design.  Does anyone know why ResMed made this change.  It seems counterproductive.

No idea as to why ResMed would discontinue the swivel joint with holes in it.

I switched from an AirFit F20 to an AirFit F30 complete mask assembly about a month or so ago. It came with a new swivel joint as well. It still has holes in it.  Dont-know

I got the F20 mask and swivel about a month ago - definitely has vent holes in the swivel.  Isn’t venting required?

The one on the Left in the pic is the new style, while the one on the right is the older style. (In the couple months I have been on CPAP, I have received both of them)

The newer one, on the left still has vent holes in it there is just a cover over them, to help diffuse the airflow.

I believe ResMed calls it 'QuietAir' technology. And from my experience, it is definitely much quieter than the original swivel connect I was provided with.
