The best nose and mouth mask?
Hi
I am trying to use a bipap machine but my nostril mask isn't doing the job because my mouth keeps opening and I wake up. So they gave me a nose and mouth mask but it's horrible (attaching a picture) and I can't sleep with it
Can someone recommend a really comfortable mask?
I know it's a tough question, what's good for one person is not necessarily good for another. But there isn't a large selection available to me. And I don't have the option of trying one out and returning it if it's no good for me.
Thanks in advance.

Benzi,
Have you tried a 2x5 Kinesiology regular original cotton elastic athletic tape which might minimize your mouth leaks, or use a SomNoSeal device,a soft, flexible mouthpiece that prevents mouth breathing and dry mouth during sleep?

another option to minimize mouth leaks with nasal pillows/mask some type of soft cervical collar to help keep the mouth closed. i've settled on the Caldera Releaf neck pillow (available through Amazon or directly through Caldera)--it has made a huge difference, and i rarely wake up now with a parched mouth and that wind tunnel noise...

resmed airfit F30
RE: The best nose and mouth mask?

I loved the F30 minimalist mask - but then became painfully aware of effects of the darned magnets!! Now I can't use it because I'm a "metal person" and would wake up at night in pain from the magnets.
The Mirage Liberty and I had gotten along just fine for over a decade with terrific results! However, ResMed got rid of that wonderful mask and I still haven't found the right mask to replace it. I prefer ResMed masks, but once tried another brand's mask - the"Evora"- a horrible experience!
ResMed has gone nuts over magnetized masks which I, a "metal person", can't use. Don't like ResMed's nonmagnetized mask with the tubing bizarrely coming down from the top of the head. And so I ended up with Resmed's F20 in its nonmagnetized form. It is a dependable mask allowing good air flow, but it always leaves a sore spot on the bridge of my nose - often waking me in pain. It is a solid, unyielding mask - but it just doesn't fit my face right (I've tried different sizes and different strap adjustments). I go from 0 leakage to 45 L leakage on and off - lots of red faces about leakage on my sleep report. Strange thin is I don't even feel the leakage! And the F20 is so darned claustrophobic!! It's like someone tightly gripping my face, bunching up my cheeks, and distorting my mouth. Somehow I go to sleep like that - but I dream of a minimalist mask that can work for me like the Mirage Liberty once did.
Anyone know of a good full-face,
minimalist, mask available
without magnets?

For every single mask or nasal deal. some love it and some hate it. The best one is the one that works the best for you. Popular opinion has nothing to do with a mask fitting you.

I wonder if you can remove the magnets and put velcro in.

Ain't that the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!
I have three masks! ResMed AirFit F20, F30, and F40. I didn't have to look around much to find what worked for me.

Susan, I have to ask. just what is a "metal person" Is this a documented thing in medical journals?
The earth it self is magnetic and is engulfed in magnetic flux lines. It's what makes a compass work. Your home electric system emits magnetic flux as well. So i guess I don't understand pain from magnets.
