The last time........

The last time........
.......I used my CPAP was Dec. 29. I'm doing just fine w/o it. I still have it set up on my bedside stand, but I unplugged it yesterday.

I'm sleeping thru the night w/o any issues or problems. My wife says that my snoring had been greatly reduced, and when I do, it's minimal and not loud.

I can't accredit it to any one thing......except other than maybe having my AFIB issues addressed. I had a Catheter Ablation done last Sept. 19th. On Jan. 25th, I had an implant embedded in my chest that monitors my heart rhythm and such. It'll be in me for three years.

I have a follow-up with my cardiologist tomorrow (19th) and I plan to discuss my CPAP use with him.

I don't plan on any more visits with my sleep doctor / clinic. It's been maybe 4+ years since I had one anyways. Anyways, I feel good about ti all and feel like things are moving forward for me. I had a Hernia Surgery done on March 10th. That went well and am so glad that it's now done and behind me. I'm in recovery mode and it's going great. I go back on the 27th for a follow-up.

I'm already back to riding my motorcycle. Life is good!  Cool

Glad to hear that things went well. Enjoy your motorcycle, but watchout for idiots and stay safe.
Are you are side sleeper? Or do you sleep on your back? If on your back, do you still use a wedge pillow or soft cervical collar?
Sorry for being so nosy.

I didn't snore much at all and when I did the wife said it was barely noticeable. And I wasn't wanting or even needing a day time nap. And yet a sleep lab at the VA Here in Walla Walla showed a moderate AHI of 22 but no Central apnea. So here I am on a machine.

So just be aware that apnea can be a sneaky bugger. Good though that you are talking with Dr. Vinnie Boombatz. Big Grin

I'm a side sleeper and a mouth breather. I don't use any special pillows.

Been riding m/c's for about 62 years now. Only been hit once. That was back in 1979 I think it was. A young, newly licensed driver, pulled right out in front of me from a side street. I "almost" got around her, but I clipped the rear bumper. I went down, but was not injured. My bike suffered about $1K in damages. Her insurance covered all the repairs, as well as a loaner car for me.

I was in LE for 30 yrs. I was a Motor Officer (M/C cop) for quite a few years. Quit doing that cause it took all the fun out of riding on my days off.

But yes, the idiots are always out in full force these days. You really need "to be on your game" when out riding.

Thanks for the kind words and such. I really do enjoy this forum and it's great members. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

I'm leaving my machine set up on my beside stand. I just turned it off. I'm going to speak to my cardiologist tomorrow and see what he has to say about me powering it down. I'll also speak to our family doctor as well. He's the one that referred me to a Sleep Clinic.
