Throat catching on inhale? Awake or asleep

Throat catching on inhale? Awake or asleep
I saw several posts regarding throat blockage or catching for exhaling. My problem is during inhale only. I notice it a lot throughout the day. I definitely have a narrow breathing passage. Generally not overweight and don't smoke.

Any others having this issue? Any known fixes outside of CPAP or mouth appliance?? I do breathing exercises fairly regularly and sleep decently with a CPAP.

Thanks!

I have palatal prolapse on exhale occasionally. and sometimes I snort a snore-like sound on inhale when starting a laugh - is that kind of what you mean?

I've read about a couple methods used to tighten up the soft palate. as I recall, they involve radio waves or rods/stents of some kind. it's been many years since I looked into it but back then insurance wouldn't cover them.

Mine is just when I am casually breathing, I can hear and feel my throat catch in a slight amount.

As the person noted above, maybe an ENT would be best bet. Curious if others have had any experience with this issue though.

watched an ENT on you tube and he mentioned age, on some people. We are all different. Muscle deterioration.
