RE: Too many clear airway events, need help
Welcome to the forum. I think turning of EPR may help a little and you probably would do better with a fixed pressure. There are others on the forum who have much more experience and expertise on dealing with the issues you are having. One of them will probably respond before too long.I just want you to know that you will get knowledgeable help.

As you have increased pressure your Centrals have gotten worse.

Try min and Max pressures set at 6
Then set PS =2 the next night
Then set PS=0 the next night
Then set max and min = 5 the next night
Finally set max and min =4

Decreasing both pressure and pressure variance should reduce your Centrals

Another possibility is to use an ASV machine.

heartsick,
Welcome to Apnea Board!

Your PS (Pressure Support) is currently set at 4.
Follow bonjour’s suggestion and see if that makes a difference for you.

If you need a Clinicians Manual for your machine, order it here:

RE: Too many clear airway events, need help
Here is another possibility; you have been provided a Resmed Aircurve 10 Vauto by your doctor because you have complex or central apnea, and he knows it. The Vauto cannot treat central apnea, and can make it worse than CPAP. You probably need to discuss this with your doctor and ask if it is time to consider the ASV (adaptive servo ventilator), which does treat central apnea, periodic breathing as well as any obstructive apnea you may have. It is possible, you will achieve better results in CPAP mode at low pressures without the bilevel pressure support (PS is the difference between IPAP-EPAP).

The bilevel Aircurve 10 Vauto is not provided to patients without a medical need or intolerance for CPAP in the U.S. I don't know how it works in China. You may have failed CPAP previously, or show indications of central apnea in your sleep test or titration. This problem will not go away until you receive the correct therapy, ASV. Talk to your doctor, and read the Wiki on Justifying Advanced PAP Machines: http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...P_Machines

RE: Too many clear airway events, need help
Thank you so much, I set the min and max pressure at 6 and PS at 2, and the AHI is back to normal after last night's sleep, will do as you said tonight and post the result.
