Total sleep time
Hi folks,
I've been looking for data on how PAP treatment affects total sleep time, but I haven't found much. After starting therapy, I'm seeing significant improvement in my sleep quality, but my sleep time has been greatly reduced. I expect this to be transient, but I'm curious what others have experienced in terms of pre-therapy total sleep, adjustment-phase total sleep, and long term total sleep. Would anyone be willing to share these here? Bonus points for additional thoughts on your adjustment period...
My experience:
Pre-therapy: 8-9 hours
Adjustment: 5-6 hours
Long term: ???
Thanks

Thanks!
Sadly, the individual variability they report is huge (~60 min standard deviations at baseline and 3 months). I'm also specifically interested in people's responses over the adjustment period, and in the finer grained details of who sees what types of changes.
I'm under 40, have a BMI of 20, and an AHI < 1, so I doubt that their study sample is very representative for me, personally. I'm assuming there are some other folks on here with more of a UARS presentation as well, but I also wouldn't be surprised if people with different sleep apnea profiles, levels of pre-existing insomnia, etc also have different experiences with this.
