Traveling with CPAP
#21
RE: Traveling with CPAP
1. On the initial conversation, I usually tell a prospective roomate, "good news! I don't snore because I use a CPAP". Smile
2. No need for ear plugs...you will be the quiet one, but stake out the bed with a plug nearby.
3 Use the carry case, and keep it with you as a carry-on. It does not count against you as a carry-on since it is a medical device. The resmed travel bag is really nice and has a strap that fits around the pull-handle of carry-on bags.
4. I always use tap water or bottled water when traveling.
5. Only you hear the inhale air because it is right between your ears. No one else in a separate bed will notice. I will say, if you can tolerate nasal pillows, they are a lot quieter and more comfortable (Airfit P10).

Don't worry...your roommate probably snores anyway.

RE: Traveling with CPAP
Those that I have roomed with at conferences have all said the machine was very quiet. In the past few years, I've been rooming with the same friend and she uses ear plugs anyway.

Frankly, between the room's AC, noise from the hallway, and everything else, she's not going to notice. And if she does? Not your problem.
