Trouble shooting the mask
I started my CPAP journey about 4 months ago. As I side sleeper requiring non-metal straps (pacemaker), I found the Evora under-the nose full face mask to my like. We hit it off. My AHI numbers dropped below 4.0 consistently. Slept well. About 3 weeks ago, my numbers shot up into the high teens and twenties area. The data also showed significant leakage. I changed mask and straps and have done all the appropriate trade outs and maintenance. I tried the ResMed Quattro FX for one night. It put too much pressure on the bridge nose. I might loosen the head strap and try it again and see what happens. Before I go through the tedious process of mask hunting, I'm wondering if anyone can suggest why my current mask has suddenly registered leakage?

RE: Trouble shooting the mask
Just a few thoughts.
I personally have the Quattro FX (traditional) full face mask. Of all the (traditional - over the nose) full face masks that I have used, this one puts the least amount of pressure on the nose because of the "slit" in the top of the mask (contact points are the side of the of the nose and not directly on the bridge of the nose). Only other one that comes close to this is the F & P Vitera - a bit more pressure on the nose, but it has a rolling seal that helps get a decent seal with the least amount of pressure on the nose bridge. I am not in any way encouraging you to get the Vitera though. You have a great mask in the Evora IMO. It is good that you found the Evora (hybrid) full face mask. Maybe your straps have become looser since wearing the Evora. Maybe the silicone is wearing out and causing the problems. Possibly other things as well. I wash my face every night before donning the mask. That seems to help a little bit (getting some oil off of the skin on my face and nose). Trimming down a beard, or even getting rid of it can possibly help as well with a better seal. Other members who have the Evora may want to post as well.
