Update to Do I really need CPAP?
A while back I posted that I had taken a home Apnea test. Dr. prescribed CPAP.
I'm not against CPAP, just wasn't confidant in that doctor.
I said I was getting a second opinion, and I got it.
First the second doctor spent about 40 minutes going over my complete medical history. The first guy spent five minutes giving me the quick question list.
The second doctor thought my problem might be complicated and suggested I take an in lab sleep test.
I won't go in to all the details, but the bottom line is he said I had Sleep Related Hypoxemia and Mild Obstructive Sleep Apnea. He also said I should be on oxygen at night because my very mild emphysema is more of an issues than the Apnea.
As I said, I wasn't arguing against CPAP, just wanted to be sure. And glad that I have great insurance that lets me see top doctors. I just happen to live in a major city with several teaching hospitals in it.
I want to thank everyone for their help and suggestions and give this update.
And I will be taking oxygen at night.
Thanks to everyone's suggestions.
