Waking up with high heartrate and out of breath!

Waking up with high heartrate and out of breath!
Hello all! My apologizes if I am not formatting this correctly, I couldn't find any post explaining how to properly format questions. I did only include the flow rate, pressure, leak rate and flow limit like I believe I was supposed to. If there is a topic explaining, please message me or post here and I will edit ASAP.

My question is that sometimes I wake up out of breath with my heart beating 140+ bpm, last night I woke up somewhere around 12:28am with a really fast heartrate and took my mask off (as you can see in the screenshot.) It looks like my breathing became erratic during that time, my tidal rate went way way up (from 350-540 on average to 1050! I am 179 lbs, 5'10") It looks like my leak rate went down during that time as well. Any idea what could be causing this? It was happening before my cpap but I just assumed it was a obstruction. Now I'm not sure because it doesn't look like I quit breathing, it just became erratic. Any other information I can give you I would be glad to.

Thanks so much for the help. I am slowly trying to dial in my settings, currently they are apap mode 6-11. Doctor had it initially set at 5-20 but my average was 6 and max was 11.1 so I figured I'd try tightening the apap settings.

RE: Waking up with high heartrate and out of breath!
Welcome

You need to post a full night's chart, not just a short portion, unless someone asks for that as well.

I cannot comment on your breathing difficulties. Hopefully, someone will come along who can.

You would do well to raise your starting pressure to 7. Most adults need at least that.

Again, welcome, and best wishes for achieving great therapy and comfort! Smile

Ah sorry! I've attached the whole night! Brand new to cpap but so far I feel 100x better than I was! I'm still very very sleepy and take naps, but mentally I am feeling much happier and more motivated! Also, thanks for the tip! I'll increase it to 7 Smile Any other tips or advice even on my night I would love to hear. I'm brand new, been watching a lot of youtube videos and reading but it's taking me a bit to learn everything.. haha

You had flow limitations that drove your pressure up and you had bad leaks and this affected your therapy.
Your breathing got very low, but might not have been long enough time to be a hypopnea and woke you up with you  breathing hard and having a high heart rate.

Raise your minimum pressure to at least 7cm.
Raise your ramp pressure to at least 7cm for 5 minutes

The easy way to fix your Oscar chart is to press the F12 button (FN+F12 for Mac).  That usually shows everything we need.  Make sure we can read to the bottom of the flow limits.

I disagree concerning your flow limits.  They are low enough, and nothing to worry about. Mine are often higher.

His flow limits are fine, but the question was what happened to increase the breathing and heart rate.

"My question is that sometimes I wake up out of breath with my heart beating 140+ bpm, last night I woke up somewhere around 12:28am with a really fast heartrate and took my mask off (as you can see in the screenshot.) It looks like my breathing became erratic during that time, my tidal rate went way way up (from 350-540 on average to 1050!"

A zoomed in chart was provided and I tried to answer that question.
My answer was :
"You had flow limitations that drove your pressure up and you had bad leaks and this affected your therapy.

Your breathing got very low, but might not have been long enough time to be a hypopnea and woke you up with you  breathing hard and having a high heart rate."
