What’s happening with my new mask?
Hi,
I moved to using a N30i nasal mask with the frame and top mounting for the pipe.
It’s very comfortable. I slept solidly until I woke for the toilet in the middle of the night.
After a few more hours of sleep I started being aware of noises from the nasal pillow slipping off my nose and i would reseat it but soon after got disturbed and semi woke to reseat it until I eventually took it off about and hour before I would normally get up.
The flow rate graph looks different to what I was seeing in the past with P10 pillows. With the p10 it was pretty constant thickness all night.
There was minimal AHI in the first session of sleep then loads in the second half.
I tape my mouth fully closed.
Anybody able to interpret what was happening?

RE: What’s happening with my new mask?
I had an N30i some years ago. I felt like it moved around too much and leaked a lot. I switched to the P30i, the pillows mask that fits on the same frame, and did much better.
You have some Positional Apnea. PAs show up on your charts as clusters of obstructives and/or hypopneas. These are caused by your chin dropping toward your chest, causing reduced airflow, much like a kinked hose reduces water flow. Some can control it by sleeping on a flatter pillow. More use soft cervical collars. Most drug stores offer a couple, and Amazon offers loads of them. Lots like the Caldera Releaf Collar because it's very comfortable, but they don't reach as high as folks with longer necks need. Others like the Velpeaus and others.
Best wishes for solving both of these issues!
