What should I do
#1
Question
What should I do
I'm new to this board, so I apologize for my lack of knowledge. I was recently diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) after an at-home sleep study, which revealed an apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) of 58.7 and a drop in my oxygen levels to 74%.

They want me to undergo a titration study overnight at the sleep center. However, this can get expensive, and I'd prefer to invest in a good CPAP machine that I can use and share data with them for adjustments if necessary. They mentioned that they typically use the ResMed AirSense and ResMed AutoCurve, but their prices are almost double what I can find for the same machines online. Does anyone have any suggestions?

RE: What should I do
The only problem is you need to be sure they are not central apnea.  A regular cpap or even the Aircurve bipap can not treat centrals.  They are for obstructive apnea, that is what you said you have so if you are sure about the type you can find CPAP machines many times advertised in places like craigs list or facebook.

Supplier #2 (suppliers list) at the top of the site does sell excellent used machines.  I have purchased one for myself, wife and son.  I would suggest where you find one it needs to be checked for hours used. You can go to youtube and find out how to check hours.  The ResMed Aircurve 10 or 11 Vauto is a great machine, that is what bought for all 3 of us.
