Zepbound approved for Sleep Apnea
When the weight loss drugs first appeared I thought it maybe an additional tool to put in one's box of devices that add to the relief we seek.  It is now approved.

Too early, too bad.
Do you know that Ozempic (a similar weight loss drug) was recently scrutinized in the EU and found that, as a result of some statistical manipulation in the original study, the outcomes with diabetic patients, who are the most vulnerable to vision loss, were not fully considered during the drug testing period? It turned out that this group, which is the leading target group of this drug, can suffer vision loss, including blindness, during treatment.
I hope this mishap is not repeated with Zepbound.

The significance of this is that Medicare patients cannot get reimbursement for Ozempic, Wengovy or Moungaro because FDA does not approve those for weight loss. This is a back-door to get apnea patients coverage for an effective GLP-1 antagonist, associated with weight loss but only approved for complications of diabetes. This gets coverage for overweight obstructive sleep apnea patients that has not been available without a diagnosis of Type II Diabetes. Medicare patients with OSA can now get a GLP-1 drug that is FDA approved for their condition.

Unfortunately I  think the reason for effectiveness against SA is the weight reduction.  If you're not overweight, this will do nothing.

That is clearly the point. Abound is only approved for moderate to severe OSA in obese patients.
