Hi, I am struggling a lot with PAP therapy and am wondering how this flow rate looks at a glance? I seem to struggle on the exhales and have not been waking up multiple times through out the nights. I am considering switching to bipap. I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

RE: How does my flow rate look?
Welcome

You'd get more help if you posted the whole night's Oscar reports, showing all the therapy and the left side panel. The easiest way is to press the F12 button (FN+F12 for Mac) to copy your Oscar chart.

Again, welcome, and best wishes for achieving great therapy and comfort! Smile

If you struggle with exhales, try increasing EPR.

Do you normally suffer from stuffy nose?

Thank you, yeah I have a badly deviated septum which makes nasal breathing difficult. I will increase my EPR to 3, it is currently on 2.

Help needed dialing in new Bi-level machine
Hi, after 8 frustrating month of trying CPAP I decided to try a bi-level machine based on the advice of some folks online. My biggest issue with CPAP was fighting with the machine on the exhales and even after trying EPR and adjust the pressures to different ranges, I could never get a good night's rest with the therapy. I would tape my mouth and wake up with the mouth tape open in the middle of the night from the pressure trying to escape through my mouth. So now it is time to try my luck at bilevel therapy (Resmed Aircurve 10 VAuto) and I am trying to figure out the best way to adjust the settings to get started. I previous settings on CPAP were 8-14 with EPR of 3. I am wondering if I should use the auto mode on the Aircurve 10 and what might be good IPAP and EPAP settings to start with and if I should use the easy-breath feature. I appreciate any feedback anybody may have.

Thanks!!

Based on the limited information you've given us (we need OSCAR charts) I would try setting the minEPAP at 4, PS at 4, and maxIPAP at 10. I also recommend at full face mask since you've had so much trouble with mouth-leaking.

RE: Help needed dialing in new Bi-level machine
Hi, I just got my new bilevel machine yesterday (Aircurve 10 V-auto). This chart is a total mess but I thought I would post it as it was my first night on bilevel as opposed to CPAP which I found no success with. Oddly enough I woke up feeling like I slept better than normal. And I have absolutely no recollection of taking the mask off during that huge gap in the data. Like I am legit baffled by that lol. I even thought the machine made a mistake recording all of the data but that seems pretty unlikely. Anyway I am going to switch to a full face mask tonight and try again.

Curious about all the CA flags which I had not previously been seen to many of on CPAP. I had 15 of these last night.

Fixing the leaks might make your next chart look better with more events being treated. When it leaks at these levels, the VAuto may have trouble tracking and treating events.
Mask Primer

Positional Apnea

Attach OSCAR, etc.
