it's a Vauto machine with mode set on S. all the options are confusing to me, i hope they used the right settings.

i added the current settings. not sure if the s mode is right for me or that i have to use vauto. i know i have to trust my doctor but i have my doubts...

The S mode has static IPAP and EPAP pressure settings. The other oddity is the Resmed does not report Flow Limitations in the S mode. So don't get excited when you see you don't have any flow limitations. (April Fool!)

I thought it about time to rename your thread title to be more inclusive. I have changed it to, "mugen4u - Therapy Thread".
I will be sending you a PM confirmation of my edit too.

Thanks for changing the title. i really hope i have more success with this bipap device...

you think these settings are good for someone with my complex apnea symptoms? i am not going to change these settings for at least a week so my body can get used to the current settings, but i like to think in advance

Your IPAP time (TiMax) seems a little short from seeing your charts above. This will mean you may experience a pressure drop prior to ending your inhalation phase. For me, this is very uncomfortable and results in arousals. I guess we'll just wait and see.

RE: mugen4u - Therapy Thread
Thank you, i don't know what it means but i am also not sure if my doctor changed the settings based on my oscar chart or based on her own experience.
the only way i know for sure is if the settings i posted are basic settings that the machine just picks if you use the S mode.

RE: mugen4u - Therapy Thread
Resmed's default TiMax setting is 2 seconds. Having this parameter set to a longer time than you need is not a problem. You just will not run out of pressure support before you are ready to exhale.

RE: mugen4u - Therapy Thread
so you recommend me to change the default TiMax setting? if so, how many seconds? or should i wait a few days and see how my apnea responds to the current settings?

i know my doctor will freak out because she knows i was changing the settings without her knowledge and explicitly told me not to change anything lol

Wait until you see your 95%-tile Insp. Time with your new machine. The AC10 may bring your current times down.

RE: mugen4u - Therapy Thread
The device you have does include a backup rate, which makes it like a ST at 10 breaths per minute based on your settings; however, the backup rate may not work in S mode, so we need to see what options are available. I need to to look at the settings and let me know what your options are under Mode. Also, your device has a trigger sensitivity, so we want to set that to high or very-high. Your TiMin is 0.5 Timax 2.0, and rise time is set to 250 ms. I need to to look for an EasyBreathe option to use in place of manual rise time and turn that ON. I believe I see it is off. Unfortunately, I don't know what your machine options are, and I can't make suggestions until I do.
