need mask suggestions for trigeminal neuralgia
After many years of CPAP usage, with the past several using the Dreamwear nasal mask, we have a situation where it appears that the strap running down across the cheek/jaw may at least be aggravating trigeminal neuralgia. Do anyone have positive experiences with atypical masks that do not have straps running along that area? Thanks much.

RE: need mask suggestions for trigeminal neuralgia
Both Bleep systems have no straps. The original Bleep DreamPorts and the Bleep Eclipse would work. The DreamPorts have plastic parts that protrude from the tape that is applied over parts of the nose, which attach to the unit connected to its small hose. I use and love this system, but admit that it's quite fiddly to use. The Bleep Eclipse has steel circles on the nose tape that attach to the magnets on the unit connected to the hose. The magnets are easier to use, but my husband and I found that the magnets sometimes tore a hole in the tape. Some have used a workaround by obtaining a size large ResMed P10 nasal pillows mask (really just needing the front of it, not the straps), then popping out the actual pillows and popping in the magnet part of the Bleep. I gather it works quite well.
Best wishes for finding a good solution to your problem! ![]()

Just a thought as well. If you had a thick piece of foam (very soft and flexible) and cut it to the shape of your cheek and jaw; then placed it between your cheek/jaw and the strap, it might disperse the pressure over the area of the foam piece, and not concentrate it in one small place like where the strap normally pressed against your face.
