prismaSMART max - flashing SD card light and time stopped

Hi,

Having issues with my prismaSMART max since Fri evening. Uncommanded, the SD card light started flashing green and kept doing so, display came on and time stopped. There is an occasional flickering of the display. The machine doesn't respond to commands in this state.

I can get the machine working again if I eject the SD card. I've replaced the SD card but the same thing happens with a new SD card, so I'm confident it's not a bad SD card.

When I connected via prisma App and Bluetooth to the device, it displayed "No Card" on the screen, and the app asked me to insert an SD card to do a firmware update. But it only seemed to do that once so far.

I've left it for well over an hour in this state and nothing happens. Just constantly flashing SD card light, the ":" is flashing but the time doesn't change, and the display flickers with a couple of lines on the left hand side and displays "X Delete All" for a moment and then goes back to the stuck clock display.

Thankfully the machine operates fine without an SD card in for now.

It feels like it's trying to do a firmware update via its modem and is just consistently failing. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this please?

I'm having the same issue, noticed it over the last few nights. Did you find a way to solve the issue? Couldn't find anything else online apart from your post.

This is how I eventually resolved it:

Remove the SD card. You may also need to power-cycle the unit.
Connect to the unit via Bluetooth with prismaApp.
Hopefully, once it connects and you view data, you should get a prompt "Insert an SD card to proceed with FW update" on your phone.
Insert the SD card and drive the FW update from your phone. It will likely be extremely slow!

After doing this, the machine FW upgraded (see info tab - mine went from 3.17.6 to 3.17.8) and the incorrect behaviour stopped.
