sense check on OSCAR report

RE: sense check on OSCAR report
Hi SeePak,

I increase the min to 8 and switched back to my nasal mask (N20) as the pillows (P10) but annoying me by irritating the bottom of my nose and the pressure on my sinus from the air.

Last night I slept well as I was very tired but got higher AHI. Maybe cos I was in deeper sleep as tired as didnt sleep well the previous night.

Do you see anything from the data or should I try more at this setting?

thanks

Hopefully you sort out the mask you use cause that is gonna be hard to interpret the charts going back and forth.
Do what you need to do, just letting you know.

Also, last night makes it hard cause the event chart starts at 1400 hrs and you highlight the sleep period.
That makes it so the events dont line up with the lower charts.

Instead, see the bottom left, you can select or deselect time periods, simply deselect the 1400 hrs period and everything will line up.

As for your results, CA events are coming back, and the OA is still there.

So I would like to see 9 cm for min pressure, hopefully CA events stay away.

Will see how you react to this, could maybe use higher max as well, but not sure how that will affect the CA events.

I guess 9 to 13 would be the next step.

What do you think?

Also, for some reason your original charts are gone from this thread? Did you delete those?
I wanted to compare how you started and noticed they were gone.

hi SeePak,

old screenshots got deleted as it said I had ran out of storage space on the forum server.

I have increased min pressure. seems to be going in right direction? sticking with the N20 as feels more comfortable.

next step up the max to 13 or from the results would you recommend anything else before?

thanks

I see EPR 1 now, that could work.
Looks ok as is.

May need a little more pressure now.
10 to 13 maybe?

RE: sense check on OSCAR report
hi SeePak,

I ran with the previous setting over the weekend as I was having a drink on sat and Sunday night. I got AHI of .82 and 1.46 over those nights.

Last night I upped the numbers to 10-13.

Bit of a strange night as felt I slept well until around 3.30am when I woke up for the toilet. But then couldn't really get back to a deep sleep. And my FB shows similar data.

Just a bad night or do you think something in the data is showing you the settings are not optimal now? leave as is and try a few more nights?

as an FYI I have uploaded an old typical night from before making any changes with the default settings the machine came to me with.

thanks

You will get bad nights here and there, thats life!  LOL

I think you had a positional chin tuck or on your back at 0145 hrs some mouth breathing just before that.

So you get rid of that and may sleep longer too.

I do think you may need a little more for your min. pressure.

How bout try 10.4 cm min, 13 max,  EPR1

Flow limits look good too.

Hope you are feeling better thru the day now?

btw, i use a fitbit as well now.

I know they are not most accurate, but give you an idea.

I am same as you, very little deep sleep after half the night.

Your REM is LOW i think, not sure what can make that better.

But you are getting much closer to optimum now i think?

What do you think?

RE: sense check on OSCAR report
Thanks SeePak.

I felt fine when I woke up and ok in the gym today. Actually better than some days as during the 2nd non deep sleep part I was kinda conscious and constantly moving the exhaust on the mask to stop the rebounding air getting into my eyes.

REM probably on average is 75-90min most nights looking at the app.

I try to sleep on my sides as during the initial sleep tests it showed up sleeping on my back really increased AHI. On the side I probably am verging then onto the positional issue as I bend my head down and scrunch the edge of the pillow up to keep it from disturbing the mask. I did buy one of the cpap pillows but find it too hard as made of memory foam.

I will try the updated settings.

Yes getting into the edge of the pillow works for a lot of people the main thing is whether or not you're dropping your chin too far down towards your sternum which can pinch off your Airway and that's called a chin tuck so watch for that for sure.
And I guess if the pillow got into your neck that could also cause some pinching of an airway.

Glad you're feeling better getting some success and good luck going forward!

RE: sense check on OSCAR report
hi SeePak,

I tweaked the settings last night. I must say I was out like a log until I woke up around 6 for the toilet. Maybe the combination of the previous disrupted sleep and 2 bottles of wine for lunch helped   Smile

I tried to keep my head in the right position when sleeping on my sides whenever I moved from side to side.

Fitbit data shows a deeper nights sleep too.

Leeks I think are from my lips. I sensed that on the ones around 7.40am. Air coming out a slight gap between the lips. I tried tape the other week but by the morning it had gaps in the seals from moisture.

Do you see anything in the data good or bad? should I stick with these settings for a few days to monitor any deviations?

thanks
