[split] Lost53 - AirCurve 10 ASV advice
Welcome Lostie42. Good luck with your AirCurve 10 ASV. Just started using mine. I am trying to get feedback on my charts. If anyone has any comments on them, they are appreciated. The only thing I changed between the 2 nights was the Tubing temp. I reset it to 70F because that is what I had on my S9.

RE: Concerns about new AirCurve 10 ASV
The ASV therapy looks fine except for the occasional mask leak. Having used the same model ASV in the past, I have learned to ignore the flow limits chart so don't let that concern you.
To really determine if therapy is OK, you need to answer "How do you feel?" with more substance than it's ok.

RE: Concerns about new AirCurve 10 ASV
Hi SarcasticDave. I assume that reply was for Lost53. Guess I should have just left everything in Auto. DME told me that standard air in Auto was 80F so I thought I would try the 70F setting from my S9. The air felt too warm in Auto. As far as feeling good, I have been on this for over 5 years now and the Doctor says everything is fine but from day one I have never been able to feel anything different using it, except my wife says I do not snore anymore. When I first got on the forum I got some excellent advice while I was adapting and I appreciate every ones help. First sleep test back then showed oxygen level dropping to 65% so I guess I should be thankful to be alive. Now if I could just have sweet dreams. LOL

RE: [split] Lost53 - AirCurve 10 ASV advice
Correct it's for you.
When I had the ASV, I ran my humidity in manual mode always after a short trial of auto at the beginning of the ASV therapy. I had to have more humidity than Auto put out. I've run the humidity output between 4 and 8, depending on season. As for the hose, anywhere from 75 to 86°F. You can run these however you're most comfortable. The only time I think these settings can hinder therapy is if you go too dry or moist and it clogs your nose. Other than that, humidity and heated hose settings are whatever works that you're comfortable with. Note that I'm a very rare bird here. I had ASV due to high Centrals, but I have COPD or Asthma too. Quack docs can't determine what they want to call it. Due to that extra Respiratory Disease, ASV wasn't playing well with me any longer due to the missing time controls for breathing. Otherwise it was excellent therapy against my 124 CA on a diagnostic.

I feel your pain. I also had the Central Apneas really bad. Fortunately, I don't have any of the other diagnosis. I wouldn't know what to do without the machine though. We just keep movin' along. I might try one more night and see what happens. If I am still over a 1 then I might go back to the Auto again. Will stick at it. Thanks! Good luck to you!!!

Had your docs checked other things to rule out other unrest causes?

The Docs all say that I am as healthy as can be except a little overweight and the Central Apneas. Maybe a good knock in the head would get rid of those.

AirCurve 10 ASV help

RE: AirCurve 10 ASV help
You have to take into account your leak rate went up to about 50. All bets are off on accuracy in the report with a leak blowing basically unhindered. I don't see the not breathing part myself, just the blown therapy.
A helpful tip is to keep therapy contained to a single thread. We need this continuity of therapy discussion. Otherwise we're starting over with each thread. I'll get a mod to merge this in with the last one. Thanks for understanding.

RE: [split] Lost53 - AirCurve 10 ASV advice
Thanks Dave. I also noticed that my mouth was unbelievably dry at the time that happened and I feel terrible today. My respiration rate went to zero for a bit. Should I just keep using this thread to post? Haven't quite got the hang of the posting yet. Bare with me. Sorry Ron
