Hi ratherberiding,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
I don't know the answer to your question but hang tight for more suggestions.

You need to be discussing this with your doctor. This sounds like something that is not sleep apnea related.

It *could* maybe perhaps kinda sorta be related if you are getting more sleep that usual. This means you are laying still and maybe perhaps getting stiff from not moving around the bed when you were having apnea events.

But, really, see your GP ASAP.

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I see my sleep doctor in two days. I'm ready to try again! Will keep you posted.

Doctor prescribed Flonase and an antihistamine. Says swelling and joint pain will go away over time. Oh, and "Good Luck"!

the machine in your profile: resmed s9 elite and CPAP Pressure: 4-9
do you mean 4 is start or ramp pressure and 9 is the set pressure

try Nelimed saline sinus rinse and you may need adjusting humidifier setting if getting congested. whats the leak?

RE: swelling and aching joints. - ratherberiding - 10-24-2012

Zonk,

Yes I have the ramp starting at 4 and yes the set pressure is 9. I use a Saline rinse but I'll tell you that Flonase really helped me a lot already. I don't know what you mean by "leak". I'm new to all this remember. I am interested in learning about the software you guys speak of. Any rookie help on that woul be appreciated! Thanks

A leak is just that - air leaking out of the mask and you not getting all of it. If you look at the data, it will have the leak rate. There is an 'acceptable' leak rate due to the exhaust of the mask but anything over that and you're not getting the best treatment you can.

If you are on any blood pressure pills they maybe causing feet swelling. When I shifted to Aussie that happened to me and the doc changed the type of pills and the swelling stopped.

Yes a good doc will sort it out, unlike the previous one I had.
