Only Summary Data, No Detail, After Installing OSCAR on New Laptop - Melman - 02-12-2020

I last imported data on my old  laptop and had detailed graphs as well as summaries. I since transferred my OSCAR folder to a new laptop and installed OSCAR. Today I imported data for the first time on the new PC. I only see summary data for the nights since the date I changed computers. I still see complete detailed data going back almost two years, since I started using Sleepyhead. So the OSCAR installation on the new PC recognizes the detailed data in the files transferred from the old PC but is not recording, or just not displaying newly imported detailed data. I see no error messages. Any suggestions wil be appreciated. Thanks.

Resmed machines aggressively prune their detailed data every week or so. If you haven't been importing to SH/OSCAR since you last imported to your old laptop, that's probably the culprit.

That's why OSCAR highly encourages making backups of Resmed machines...

Is that the same as mine where you need to go to:

File>Preferences>Appearance>Graphics Engine (drop down list) probably need to choose Software Engine

I may or may not be right with the solution.

I have only imported data every month or so and never had this issue before. Also, if the machine prunes data over a week old why wouldn't the data from the last few nights be displayed?

Thanks Dave. Unfortunately it didn't solve the problem

Only the Resmed series 9 machines prune their data every week and month.

Melman, is it saying there is only summary data? Does the DATALOG folder have folders for recent months which have files for recent dates?

Can you open the Debug Pane (under the Help menu (I think)), and select it all and copy it out and then post it for us?

Melman, when you transferred your OSCAR folder(s) from the old computer to new, did you copy/paste the folder(s)? Or did you Import the data using OSCAR?
If you changed your user name on your new computer then copy/paste will have copied the old path to your data in the xml files. Might be causing a problem.

Example:
Old computer: /users/Melman/Documents/OSCAR_Data
New computer: /users/Apnea Melman/Documents/OSCAR_Data

Just a thought.....

It says there is only summary data for 1/16/20 thru last night. There is detailed data for every other night back to Feb. 2017. The DATALOG folder has a folder for each year but no folders for months. All the CRC and EDF files for each entire year are in each folder. In the 2020 folder there are only CRC and EDF files thru 1/16/2020. I have detailed data for 1/1-1/15/20 but only summary data after that.

Here is the debug pane.

The DataLog layout you describe is the one for the BACKUP folder inside the Resmed machine folder in your OSCAR_Data folder.

On the SD card, the DATALOG folder has a folder for each day, and each day's folder has sets of edf and crc files.

hat does the SD card structure look like?

In my previous response I was referring to datalog files on my laptop.  I see there is a datalog file on ths SD card for each night since early 2017 thru last night.  They all contain CRC and EDF files except for those since 1/15/2020 for which I see only summary data. The datalog folders on the card since 1/15 contain no files.
One option is to delete the OSCAR folders and profiles from my computer and start over by importing almost two years of data, Is that a viable option?
