Chin strap blocking mouth - Chalkie - 05-03-2021

Most nights I am finding that my chinstrap slides round and ends up partially or fully covering my mouth. This is despite my making sure it is positioned under my chin bedtime.

Is this dangerous?

Wouldn't that mean it's not fitted to the right size? It's too large?

For me personally, my body is trying to chintuck, but unsucessfully and I notice I end up on my side.

It hadn't occurred to me they come in different sizes...will investigate.

If you read the wiki. You have to measurr your neck circumference and fit it to that size. Like when men get fitted for shirt. They get their neck size measured.

You must get neck circumference and neck height fitted correctly or it will be ineffective if it slides around. The point is to keep your nexk stiff and not have it slide round that causes neck bending.

I see. I do use a SSC to stop neck bending though.

If your chin strap is a single loop that goes from your chin to the back of your head, I think it can easily slip upwards in front.

The chin strap I use has a strap over the top of my head and a strap that goes around to the back of my head. Once adjusted, it works very well.

It is a single loop, yes.
