Thank you so much for all the help and information this board provides. I was provided a resmed S9 8 years ago after the completion of my sleep study. It was a great machine and is still working, but I was worried it could die at any time. So I upgraded to a resmed 10 airsense after an in-home sleep test. There were no resmed 10's or 11's in town, only resvent ibreeze, so through the help of the board machine reviews, I decided to purchased my resmed 10 Airsense online, and obtained the manual from apnea board as well - thank you!
I have only had the new machine for a few weeks, but already feel it is doing a better job than my S9 for controlling my obstructive apnea, and my centrals are less also.
Due to the sleep test and spO2 test, I was also put on night-time oxygen a few months ago to help get my sp02 up, as it was still dipping below 85% periodically during the night. I think this has helped as well, and I feel better during the day.
When I first started using the nighttime oxygen (with the S9 first), I just used a port adapter either between the machine and tubing (which made me have to use a non-heated tubing), or between the machine tubing and mask tubing (which allowed me to use the heated tubing). Looking at optional equipment for the Resmed 10 airsense, I saw there was a resmed heated tube with a built-in oxygen port and bought it. It arrived and I noticed the tubing is larger in diameter than the regular heated tubing. Does anyone know why that is? It is heavier and more cumbersome, but the tradeoff is the tube is heated, I can use the auto climate control option (which seems to be doing well) and I don't have to have the oxygen tube attached higher up between the tubing and mask.
My second question - am I getting the same amount of oxygen with the port at the machine base where the hose is attached, which has more time to mix with the forced cpap air, or when I had it higher up between the tubing and short mask hose?
I had surgery recently, so slow at getting things taken care of, but will upload Oscar in the near future to also see how the new machine is performing concerning the stats.

Being a fairly seasoned cpap user, I was confident buying online, but if I had not had the ability to check the settings with your help, I would not have been able to see that the settings had not been set for my particular prescription.
