Testing CPAP Machine - EasyBreather - 08-29-2013

Are there any DMEs that test machines...to make sure output pressures and algorithms are correct and functioning as they should? Anyone had "maintenance" or a "checkup" performed on their machine? Where does one do this?

Great question! Hope to see a good answer as I've only been at this just over a month and my machine is still new.

The more modern machines are rather good at maintaining their pressures. Keep the filter changed to make it even better.

However, any DME dealing in CPAPs should test it for you. Some will be twerps and charge money for it. My old S7 had to be checked once a year and had to be adjusted once. But these S9s and PRS1s probably could go longer.

You can make your own manometer. Google it or search the forums. It's rather easy, actually.

This thread made me purchase a cpap manometer while my machine is new. Simple air one just to get base reading and periodic checks as time goes by.

When I first got my CPAP machine, they hooked it up to a manometer they have there and verified that the supplied pressure was correct.
