Is this an issue with the machine? If so, what can be done to quiet it down or does the machine require repair/replacement? Thank you for your help!

DS2 Making whirring sound when inhaling
Received my DS2 replacement 2 days ago. Setup was easy and all went well. Tested it after setup and all was well with no sounds at all. During both nights of use since first setup, while inhaling, the DS2 makes a whirring noise. No noise at all when exhaling. The first night was louder than the second. Verified the noise is coming from the machine and not the hose or mask. Going to sleep takes longer because the noise is annoying. Seems pretty weird that during post setup testing the noise didn't exist. Sleep data results from both nights are satisfactory.

Sounds like a machine problem to me.

RE: DS2 Making whirring sound when inhaling
A few yrs ago I had to exchange a Resmed A10 cause of a whining noise, it was brand new also.
I was told by my DME, it happens and you weren’t the first.
RE: DS2 Making whirring sound when inhaling
The DS2 that I was given was very whirr (more like "woooo")
It was so loud that I was trying to breathe slow and shallow to see if we could get to sleep with some form of sanity. Back to the DME, and I used a loaner again (AS-10, nice machine) until another new DS2 could be found. This #2 DS2 is still noisier than the AS-10 (and the DS1) but its much quieter than the first DS2. Most nights, as Im falling asleep, I wonder if it's getting noisier each night.. or if it's just all in my head now lol.

RE: DS2 Making whirring sound when inhaling
Why don't you request they switch the DS2 for the AirSense 10 Auto?
Tell them you can't sleep with that noise.

RE: DS2 Making whirring sound when inhaling
Hoping this may help somebody... I recently upgraded to DS2 and it was very quiet in the beginning. Then one night it started making a loud whooshing sound. After checking everything else first of course, I found it was caused by the water tank lid being just a little bit open from handling the machine. Closed it and made sure the tank was inserted properly and it's super quiet again.
