High Apnea events per hour
My events per hr are too high--- from 15 to 25 per hour. Resmed Aircurve 10.
Mode  VAuto
Max IPAP   20
Min EPAP     4.0
PS            2.6
TI Max      2.0 s
Ti Min        0.3 s
Trigger     Very High
Cycle        High

Does anyone have any recommendations to help me lower events per hour?

RE: High Apnea events per hour
Hi Johnjr,
Welcome to ApneaBoard!

Will need a bit more information.  Did you have a Sleep Study done?  You can post the results here for review if you like.   What we really need is to see some nightly data.

Are you using OSCAR software? Download it from the link at the top of the page.

After you are set up with OSCAR, you can post a couple daily charts.

Be sure you have an SD card in your Cpap while sleeping.

Follow the directions in the links below to guide you.

We can advise once we see your data, otherwise we're just guessing.

Then the first step is to make sure that you have an SD memory card in your machine so it is recording the data we need!

After that, go ahead and download the OSCAR software. Follow the tutorial and transfer the data from the machine to your computer using the SD card. Import it to the OSCAR software and take a few screen shots of the Daily page. Even if you have no idea what it means go ahead and post in on here and we can help you interpret it.

My 2 cents is that the default 4-20 cmH2O settings rarely work well for anyone, and that you will need to adjust your pressure settings manually.

As OpalRose said, you can download OSCAR, put an SD card into your CPAP, then after awakening put the SD card into your computer/laptop and load the nights data. From there you post it and we can review to make recommendations. It is actually quite easy once you do it. There are plenty of YouTube videos explaining how to accomplish the task, along with the wiki links OpalRose provided and are in my signature.

No doubt your settings will need tweaking, but without data the best we can do is guess. We don’t know if the issues are from not enough pressure, too much pressure, not enough pressure support, too much pressure support, etc. The permutations are endless.

Until you get it worked out how to upload OSCAR charts, set your PS to 3 which makes your starting pressure range for IPAP min of 7 and EPAP min will be 4. Leave IPAP max at 20. That is the minimum setting to get things going. We tweak things from there. You will likely need more pressure and more/less PS, but we need data to determine that.

Any idea why they gave you (or you purchased yourself) the Vauto instead of an Autoset? It’s a great device, but there should be some reason given as to why.

If you had a sleep study, since you're in the US, contact the prescribing physician and request the full detailed sleep study. HIPAA permits this request if they hesitate. You need the file for yourself at a minimum.

As others state, we'll need to see data, preferably OSCAR daily detailed charts. There's several types of events that could be involved negatively impacting your sleep. Specifically if we're dealing with central or obstructive based Apnea, they typically respond to opposing setting adjustments. Worse yet if both are involved. We can't help you drive the VAuto accurately if we can't see what's happening.
