Help with optimizing therapy

Help with optimizing therapy
Hello everyone,

I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea after 8+ years of sleeping poorly. My AHI was 6.4, and my REM AHI was 13.1. I am currently using a Dreamwear nasal cushion.

This is my 3rd week with the machine, and I have used it for at least 7 hours every night since I got it. I am still feeling quite tired during the day and wanted to post my OSCAR data to see if there are any optimizations I can make. I know my pressure range is quite wide and needs some titration. I also know CPAP takes some time to get used to but I wanted to post my data anyway to make my therapy as effective as possible.

If anyone could offer any help, that would be absolutely fantastic. If there are any suggestions you have based on my data, would you potentially be able to explain why you're making that suggestion and what you were looking at on the graphs, for my own education. If that's too much extra typing, totally understandable.

Thanks in advance!

RE: Help with optimizing therapy
Welcome to the board.  Your numbers look good but I think you should try mor EPR.

EPR (exhale pressure relief) is used to lessen flow limits. Flow limits are apnea just like O or H events - all are apnea just diffent intensity and duration. I have how they are defined in my signature.

To use EPR you will need to raise the minimum. Set min to 7.

Set EPR to 3
Apnea (80-100%) 10 seconds, Hypopnea (50-80%) 10 seconds, Flow Limits (0-50%) not timed  Cervical Collar - Dealing w DME - Chart Organizing

RE: Help with optimizing therapy
Hey Stacey, hopefully I am responding correctly. Haven’t used a forum like this in quite a while.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond for and providing an explanation.

I will try raising my EPR to 3 and min pressure to 7
