Supported Pulse Oximeters

OSCAR 1.1.0 supports the Wellue (Viatom) pulse oximeters listed below. Viatom devices are distributed in the US by Wellue (and Lookee?), and may have different names than their international equivalents.

  • Wellue SleepU
  • Wellue O2Ring
  • Probably Lookee Wrist and Ring sleep monitors (untested)
  • Possibly others, such as the KidsO2 and Checkme O2, but they are currently untested.

Download Recorded Sessions from the Pulse Oximeter

Windows PC

  1. Download and install Viatom's free O2 Insight Pro software. [link]
  2. Connect your oximeter to your PC with the USB cable that came with your oximeter. The O2 Insight Pro window should say "Device connected" in the bottom right corner. Viatom's software cannot connect via Bluetooth. You must use the proprietary USB cable that came with your oximeter.
  3. Click Download.

The downloaded session files will be stored in C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\AppData\Local\O2 Insight Pro\DATA\SerlalNumber.

Android App

  1. Download and install Viatom's free ViHealth Android app. [link]
  2. Launch the app while your oximeter is turned on. The app will automatically detect it and download your data. If your oximeter is off, you can simply replug in the USB charging cable (or ring sensor, if applicable) to turn it on.

The downloaded session files will be stored in /sdcard/PlusebitO2CN. Ideally copy these files into a folder on your computer and use your oximeter's serial number as the folder name.

iOS App

  1. Download and install Viatom's free ViHealth iOS app. [link]
  2. Launch the app while your oximeter is turned on. The app will automatically detect it and download your data. If your oximeter is off, you can simply replug in the USB charging cable (or ring sensor, if applicable) to turn it on.
  3. Tap on the day you wish to export as a file.
  4. Select the sharing icon in the top right corner of the day's view.
  5. Choose "Share as Binary" when prompted.
  6. Save the day's file via AirDrop, email, cloud storage, or local iOS files.

Unfortunately, the iOS app requires you to export one day at a time, repeating steps 3-6 for each day you wish to export. To export all of your downloaded oximetry at once:

  1. Backup your iPhone or iPad to your computer.
  2. Extract the sqlite database from your iOS backup:
    1. Download the free version of iBackupViewer. [link]
    2. Launch iBackup Viewer and open your iOS backup.
    3. Click on the "Applications" icon.
    4. Select ViHealth.app from the list of apps on the left.
    5. Select Documents/JKBD/jkdb.sqlite.
    6. Click Export > Selected Files... .
    7. Save the jkdb.sqlite in a folder on your computer. Ideally use your oximeter's serial number as the folder name.
  3. Extract the recorded sessions from the sqlite database. For example, on macOS:
    1. Launch Terminal.app
    2. cd /Users/YourUserNameHere/path/of/your/data/folder
    3. sqlite3 jkdb.sqlite
    4. select writefile(fileName, fileData) from DataModel;
    5. .quit

The downloaded session files will be extracted and stored in the folder you specified above.

macOS

  1. Download and install Viatom's free O2 Insight Pro software. [link]
  2. Connect your oximeter to your Mac via Bluetooth. The O2 Insight Pro window should say "Device connected" in the bottom right corner.
  3. Click Download.

The downloaded session files will be stored in /Users/YourUserNameHere/Library/Containers/com.viatom.O2PCViewer-BLE/Data/Library/Application Support/O2_Insight_Pro/DATA/SerlalNumber.

The "Library" folder is hidden by default, but you can still reach it by pressing cmd-shift-G and entering "~/Library" in the file selection dialog.

Import the Downloaded Sessions into OSCAR

  1. Select Data > Import Viatom Data in OSCAR's menu bar.
  2. Navigate to the folder where your downloaded session files are stored. See above for the location, depending on how you downloaded the data from the device. The session files are named after the time at which each night's recording started, e.g. 20200408214533 for April 8, 2020 at 9:45:33 pm.
  3. Select the folder containing the session files and click Open. All sessions in that folder will be imported, and previously imported sessions will be skipped.
Alternatively, if you want to import only a single session, you can select just that session file.
Note: On Windows, you cannot directly open a folder. Shift-click to select more than one session file in the folder, and all files in that folder will be imported.
