Sorry you aren’t feeling well, but you really should discuss this with your doctor, especially if you still have an infection and are out of antibiotics.

Normally, I would say that nasal rinses aren’t harmful, but run it by your doctor.

Why do you think the infection is from usage of the CPAP machine?

Sinus infections can be extremely difficult to get over. I had one that started last April and lasted until after Thanksgiving. This was before I began CPAP therapy. I went through 4 different antibiotics (Ceftin, Augmentin, Levaquin, and Cleocin), a few rounds of Prednisone, antihistamines, and Flonase and then Nasonex. I was on the Cleocin for 6 weeks straight. Started out with my family doctor and ended up going to 3 different ENTs before it finally cleared up. Also had 2 CT scans. Almost a year later, I'm still not back to 100% normal and have flare ups now and then.

When it was at its worse, I was doing a sinus rinse 3 or 4 times a day. I started out with a Netipot , then moved to the Netipot squeeze bottle, and then on to the SinuPulse machine. They all worked and provided relief, but the SinuPulse machine was my favorite.

Both myself and my ENT thought I was headed for surgery and I may still end up there.

My point is, don't mess around with it. If it's not getting better, go back to your doctor.

I think its caused by the machine because i never had a sinus infection ever until i started using cpap!  Yah I have appt with doctor again, just thought id ask.  Its weird, my sinuses arent really congested that much but i get this pressure feeling in my sinuses. It got pretty bad for awhile id get lightheaded all the time and very very fatigued. I'm on doxycyclin antibiotic going on day 15.

Sorry about it. It might not be caused by the CPAP. Wondering how often you clean your CPAP? I clean the mask everyday and the hose once a week and touch wood so far so good. I don't just use hot soap water but add a little bit of Dettol to clean the hoses.

Conversely, I clean my parts maybe once per week. Have been using Dawn and very warm water only. Will be replacing Dawn with baby shampoo soon. No ill effects.

First, contact your doctor tomorrow morning and let him/her know that you aren't showing improvement that you expected.

Second, chances are that this sinus infection is just coincidental with your having started cpap.
