RE: Kiwii's Search for Restful Sleep
Q4: The time is wrong on my machine. It says 18:21 when it should be 16:21.
Fixing that may mess up my data?

RE: Kiwii's Search for Restful Sleep
change it two hours AFTER you stop using it. That should not cause a problem.

In order to resolve the OA, we really need higher EPAP pressure. Reducing CA may respond to lower pressure support. Based on what I'm seeing here, I recommend you move EPAP min to 6.0, IPAP max to 12 and PS to 3.0. So PS 3.0 over 12/6. I really think you will see difference. I replied to your first posted statistics with a recommendation you did not follow. I'm more than glad to answer your Q3 but you need to reciprocate by providing some more charts and data. Pressure support causes CA. If I was to increase my PS from 3 to 4, I can guarantee my AHI would increase from 0.5 to 3.0+. I know this from experience. My recommendation to reduce CA was based on not only my results, but the hundreds of others I have helped here. I am NOT a sleep doctor, but I get pretty good results for people by following accepted titration principles, combined with a lot of anecdotal experience. No one seems to respond the same way, and that is what keeps things interesting. The other thing I suggested was a 1-cm increase in minimum EPAP pressure. That was to address the OA and H events. You can try these solutions that have worked well, or not. It is entirely your choice. If you are intimidated by your doctor or DME, then put your device into Airplane Mode for a few days so you can try something without transmitting data to them. If it works, it is pretty hard to argue against. I have a pretty good record for improving results.

I'm sorry, Sleeprider, I am very confused. Re: your recommendation - I believe I mentioned that I would gather 3 days of data with lying on my side so that I could have that information as a direct comparison with lying on my back (both being at the reduced pressure). Which puts me on Monday. Which is today, the day that I would have made changes, following your recommendation. But maybe I only thought I mentioned it. I really am tired and maybe I didn't. Re: additional charts - the ones I just provided are all there is left. It brings it up to Sept 17, last night. Or maybe you mean the oximeter data? Again, I am not normally this dense but I cannot for the life of me understand what it is you would like me to provide. Please list is in easy to understand terms. I am happy to comply. hmm. Maybe it is some chart other than the Daily chart? I'm really sorry. I honestly don't know what you are asking for.

PoolQ: haha... it did take me awhile to figure out where your reply was.
Quote:yep they have full data, I have not seen it released before, they don't want to have to explain it all to novices. It is my record though, and one that I can insist upon getting? Or is the one I have all that is needed to provide another doctor? Thank you bonjour, much appreciated.

This includes Doctors, Sleep Specialists, DMEs, Sleep Technicians, etc. If I had to pick one person to rely on for my PAP treatment it would be him. Yet he has referred various people to consult with various specialists when needed. He does not have an ego here and is only interested in helping various people to improve their therapy. I strongly suggest you follow his advice. Fred

I agree Bonjour. (oops, I mean, Fred)
Did I give the impression that I was not going to follow his advice? eta: I feel like I am at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party. I really do not understand what is happening, or how I've gotten off on the wrong foot. I'll come back tomorrow. Maybe I can figure it out then. My apologies if I've offended anyone.

I was empathizing Sleepriders commitment. I think he may have thought you were not promptly implementing his suggestions. I suspect that he will comment in a bit.

Oh, okay. Meanwhile it has occurred to me that perhaps he could not see the links within the dates. I can make them more obvious. I've included a daily chart for each day that I've been using the machine. If I should have posted something else, please specify what you would like.
Also, perhaps my asking for a nutshell version of the PS was taken as my needing proof or something? I asked for it so that I could confront the doctor. eta: UGH! So now I can't figure out how to edit the dang post. Just shoot me. The links are there, really. Just click on the dates. |
